The 4th Annual Awards for Teaching in Photography
This summer’s Conference hosted and organised by University of South Wales will be home to the fourth annual APHIE Awards for teaching practice in photography. The Awards are significant outreach in terms of sharing great pedagogic practice, introducing new and innovative approaches to teaching photography in Higher Education in the UK and recognising the hard work and contributions of all our members.
Short-listed entrants will prepare a Pecha Kucha style presentation showcasing their innovative teaching practice for supportive and eager conference members, who will vote on-the-spot for the overall winner. This is a critical and much anticipated session and has proved to be a catalyst for discussion and implementation of new ideas within courses across the nation and beyond.
We are proud to continue the association with our American sister organisation, the Society for Photographic Education (SPE). Each year’s winner will be invited to present an expanded version of their Pecha Kucha at their annual conference. (The 2019 conference will take place in Cleveland, Ohio entitled ‘The Myths of Photography and the American Dream’). Funding support will be provided courtesy of APHE and SPE.
If you would like to share your good practice, generate dialogue with others, and maybe even win an award, please submit an outline of what you have done for the 4th Annual Aphies Award! (up to two submissions per APHE Member Institution*):
