Photography BA (Hons)
The BA (Hons) Photography will develop your visual language and give you the practical knowledge and skills to express your creativity as a photographer. It will provide you with a foundation for the further development of your professional practice either as a career, a means of personal expression or through further study.
You will have the opportunity to learn a broad range of photographic practices such as documentary, advertising, portraiture, social, architectural and landscape. You will study digital media as well as traditional silver and experimental photographic processes.
By considering social, historical, contemporary and many other theoretical issues, you will establish a broader understanding of the context of photography as an art form, a means of communicating news, products, events and information or as a tool of personal discovery.
A practical knowledge of photography methods and techniques is not a prerequisite for the course. However, as part of the application process you will be required to show proof of visual skills and understanding in the form of a portfolio of work in a visual arts medium.
