We are pleased to invite submissions to our summer conference, to be hosted jointly by Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham on the theme:
Continents of Photography
Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” (John Donne 1572-1631)
The idea of living in a connected world is a familiar one. This conference aims to explore how the nature of being connected can change or influence our understanding of the cultural, political and social boundaries of photography. It seeks to question how we, as photographic educators, bring that experience into our classrooms, labs and studios.
Possible themes may include, but are not limited to:
• Languages of photography
The conference team are looking to offer a range of stimulating activities and presentations. In particular we are inviting submissions under the following presentational forms:

Lightning talks (5-10 min slots)
Conference Papers (20 min slots)
Practical workshops (1 hour)
*Each member is eligible to make a submission to the Inaugural APHE Teaching Award as part of the conference through the delivery of a Pecha Kucha presentation relating to pedagogy and practice. Suggested title is “How we work with…”
All submissions must include:
Abstracts / workshop proposals should be no longer than 500 words.
